In a stellar season to date, the Sault Civic Soccer Girls Under 11 Red team again showed their competitive spirit by winning a Silver Medal in the Sudbury Panhellenic Tournament on July 23-24, 2011. In the 2-day event, the "Sault Shock" competitive team ended their 4 preliminary games with 3 wins and one tie to secure a place in the final match. In a hard fought contest, the Sault Shock lost to the Bradford Eagles by a score of 1-0. MVPs for the games were Nicole Pulente, Jadyn Deschene, Mackenzie Chartrand and Jenna Nanne.
Taryn Gazankas showed her offensive skills securing 4 goals for the team over the course of the tournament. Mackenzie Chartrand furthered the tally with 2 goals and Jadyn Deschene, Sabrina Duckstein, Tiffany Davies and Emily Scarpino each celebrated singles for the team. Goaltending for the team was Hailee Young. Supporting team players included Taylor Elliott, Alissa Gilmar, Kara Gruyters, Jessica Howe, Julia Howe, Jenna Nanne, Olivia Orazetti, Destinee Pine, Nicole Pulente, Emily Roberts, and Brooke Schaeffer. Coaching staff for the team was comprised of Alison Bodnar, Jessica Gillespie and Team Trainer, Ryan Mitchell.
The next challenge for the team will be the Brantford Soccer Classic Tournament scheduled for August 12-14, 2011.

Sault Civics Girls 2000 is a competitive team for girls ages 11 and under. The "Civics" program is designed for players wishing to develop their skills at a more competitive level. This team represents Sault Ste. Marie in their age division in various tournaments both in Canada and the United States. The team has played together since October of 2010.
