The Algoma Nurse Practitioner-Led Clinic is a new model of primary care delivery that brings together a multidisciplinary team of health care professionals and is led by nurse practitioners. Patients of the clinic are registered to a nurse practitioner and have access to the clinic’s multidisciplinary team which includes a registered nurse, registered practical nurses, social worker, pharmacist, and administrative support staff.
“Our government has made unprecedented investments in health care in Sault Ste. Marie and we are continuing to deliver improvements to front-line care with the announcement that the Nurse Practitioner-Led Clinic is accepting another round of new patients that will be in addition to the approximately 1,000 they are already serving,” said David Orazietti, MPP. “Building on and protecting the tremendous progress we have made in increasing access to primary care is a top-priority and we will work tirelessly until every resident in Sault Ste. Marie has a doctor or nurse practitioner."
