beachAlgoma Public Health has lifted the swimming advisory for:

Pointe Des Chenes Beach, located on Pointe Des Chenes Drive, Sault Ste. Marie
Lower Island Lake, located in the Township of Aweres

Test results of water samples collected on July 9th, 2012 met the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care guidelines for safe swimming.

Mark’s Bay located off Airport Road will remain posted with an advisory as samples collected on July 9, 2012 failed to meet the Ministry’s standards for safe swimming.

Before swimming, take into consideration the past day’s weather and the current conditions of the beach.

The public is encouraged to visit the Beach Warnings section on Algoma Public Health’s to view an interactive map of the beaches sampled and any current warnings or postings.
