Competing in the 2012 Cambridge Heritage Tournament, the Sault SHOCK finished the round robin portion of the tournament with 1 tie and 2 losses.

The Sault SHOCK lost their first game 3-0 against Cambridge United A, the eventual winner of the tournament. They followed with a 0-0 tie with Georgetown and a 2-0 loss to Barrie. Goal keeper Emma Hendrie achieved a shutout in the second game of the tournament.

“We faced strong defensive teams in both of our losses and questionable referee calls affected us in our second game. The girls fought hard and didn’t give up against the opposition,” says Coach Alison Bodnar. “The team will learn from this tournament and we look forward to competing in Newmarket next month.”

Other team players include Makenzi Chartrand, Tiffany Davies, Jadyn Deschene , Sabrina Duckstein, Taryn Gazankas, Kara Gruyters, Jessica Howe, Julia Howe, Jenna Nanne, Olivia Orazietti, Destinee Pine, Nicole Pulente, Emily Roberts, Laura Rosso, Emily Scarpino, and Emily Weir. Coaching staff for the team is comprised of Head Coach Alison Bodnar, Assistant Coach, Jessica Gillespie, Team Trainer, Ryan Mitchell and Team Manager, Allyson Pulente.

The next tournament comes early in August with the team heading back to southern Ontario for the Newmarket CAA Heart of York Summer Classic Soccer Tournament on the August 11-12 weekend.
