Just wanted to let you know that last weekend my family and I attended the "carload" Sunday at the Skylark Drive In and found out some bad news. After 15 years of business the current owners are calling it quits and selling the property at the end of this season. I know the place needs a bit of love but our family enjoys going to the skylark on Sunday nights, we love being able to watch our daughter play on the monkeybars and tossing the football around with my son before the movie.
I hope that whomever buys the Skylark property continues to keep the traditions of the drive in alive. It is already a great place to take the family and it is very affordable, costing a fraction of the cost of a regular night out at a movie theater. I hope also that everyone in our city will come out this season and give the current owners a great end to a long road for them. They need to see that we as a city appreciate the great service they have given to us!
